Dr. Taormina has special interests in esophageal disease, colon cancer screening, non surgical hemorrhoid treatment, and inflammatory bowel disease.

​​He is double board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He has attained fellowship status in the American College of Physicians, American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

He is a board member of Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts since 2019 and is the Medical Director at Midwest Physicians Surgery Center.

​Dr. Taormina currently practices gastroenterology in Kansas City since 1985 after completing active military duty in the US Army Medical Corps.

He is a native of Kansas City and is active in teaching, clinical research and philanthropy. He is a graduate of the UMKC School of Medicine and completed his postgraduate gastroenterology training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC. He is the medical director of the Midwest Physicians Surgery Center.
